GMAT... check!

Thanx everyone for leaving msg and being supportive!!

I got a 780 (Q51 V46) in yesterday's test~ Now I really feel that I would get something this year, and go to B-school next year^_^

I feel both Q and V are easier than in GMATprep. I didn't take the break after AWA, coz i wanted to end this thing as quick as possible. So I began Q right away, and then i got stuck on the very first question. I spent 7 min to solve it coz i read the question wrong... After that, i saw some really really easy questions then I thought: I'm screwed. When I started the V, I tried very hard to forget about Q. I think I was quite focused and controlled the pace very well, that's why I could get a better than usual V. I took two GMATprep last week, both are 760, in spite of some familiar questions in OG.

I spent today hanging out with friends and just got back home... I haven't been so relaxed for quite some time. Will start working on essay tmr, got more tough work ahead~

Good luck to everyone if you haven't get your GMAT done, or you are working at your essay already~

I've posted the links of the schools on the right hand side of the blog:) And strange enough I've been answering this questions for like dozens times in these two days, now I can say them in just 10 sec: Standford, MIT, NYU, UCLA and Rotman, with ranking of preference;)

Great score! I believe that the GMAT is just one part of the admittance equation. Good luck on the essays and interview portion.

BTW, read your post on the IB. WOW, I read the Business Week article you referenced (IB intern in HK). Very funny and scary picture the author paints.

Congratulations! It couldn't have gone better, right? That's an excellent start! I wish you good luck with your applications.

By the way, I find your choice of target schools interesting. They are VERY different in their ranking and quality. Why don't you focus on top schools first and go for safety schools only in case of rejection?

Hi, Angleangie,

To answer your question, ranking is actually not what I consider most in picking schools. I picked these schools: Stanford, UCLA, MIT because of their strength in Entrepreneurship. MIT is actually starting a special program in entrepreneurship this year, it's very interesting. As for NYU, normally known as a Finance school. But considering that I'm gonna start/continue a fashion business, and NYC is the city of fashion, so that's gonna bring me closer to my potential customers and partners there. Besides, i've always wanted to take some class in parsons, i might be able to do that if i'm in NYC.

First, let me congratulate you on your score!!

Second, because you follow MBA news, we wanted to share with you an interesting story...

Shortly after Donald Trump announced that he was moving on from "The Apprentice," Acceleratorä, a four-week business boot camp at Vanderbilt University’s Owen Graduate School of Management, challenged students to learn business by doing business.

For 30 days, 45 top-notch college students from the U.S. and around the world were exposed to CEOs and other executives from a variety of industries. They were given real-world business problems to solve for companies like American Airlines, FedEx, Lexus, Whirlpool, and Hospital Corporation of America, competing "Apprentice-style" for once-in-a-lifetime opportunities that included:

- Time in the flight simulators at FedEx
- A trip to Dallas, courtesy of American Airlines, to present their recommendations to their executive management team
- A table at the National Civil Rights Museum's Freedom Award celebrity dinner, honoring those who made significant contributions to civil rights movements
- Internships
- And more

The program ended on June 24, 2007 but you can get the 411 at http://www.owen.vanderbilt.edu/vanderbilt/Programs/accelerator/index.cfm. You can also peek inside this action-packed immersion into all areas of business at the Accelerator blog (http://accelerator2007.blogspot.com/), maintained by Michael Burcham, CEO of ParadigmHealth and Accelerator's entrepreneurial faculty director.
